JP Games is Developing Two Big Games in Cooperation With Large Companies

JP Games is developing two big games in cooperation with large companies, studio boss Hajime Tabata said in a new interview with Famitsu (via Ryokutya2089).

“We have two games in development,” Tabata said. “Both are big games.”

He added, “Both are not standalone projects of JP Games but projects in cooperation with large companies.”

Some other tidbits from the interview note that the first game has completed pre-production, and it’s described as an experimental high-speed RPG as well as an evolution of Final Fantasy Type-0.

Tabata suggested their challenge with the game is to shorten the time it takes players to complete the RPG in a single playthrough. He suggested the RPG experience can be condensed into a single playthrough that can be played over and over in multiplayer.

The second game has just launched development, and is described as a global AAA nomadic RPG type game, and an evolution of Final Fantasy XV. Tabata noted the goal with this game is to incorporate wandering freely into the core gameplay.

Previously, Hajime Tabata departed from Square Enix after more than a decade at the company, and launched JP Games later that year. While JP Games is developing two big games in cooperation with large companies, it makes sense they got such large projects lined up from the get-go considering Tabata’s career at Square Enix.

We’ll keep you guys posted.
