Deep Silver has announced a certain character is returning in Agents of Mayhem.
Saints Rows‘ Johnny Gat will be the 13th playable agent in the game, that is if you pre-order the game at GameStop in the USA and “at retail and on Steam” in Europe. Johnny comes with an exclusive mission that unlocks him, as well as weapon skins, a personal mission, and a vehicle.
Featured above, you can view a new trailer showcasing how the Gat makes his return. Here’s a brief description of Johnny, via Deep Silver:
He just couldn’t stay away. Saints Row fans love him, Saints Row fans want to be him, and now they can.
The “Have God re-create the Earth and retcon the entire world of Saints Row” ending of Saints Row: Gat out of Hell means that the dead don’t stay dead. Johnny is back where he was born – Seoul. Gat’s been hard on the beat in this universe as a Lieutenant in Seoul’s police department, but the tragic events of Devil’s Night left Johnny in a coma. After awakening almost a year later, Johnny discovers that all of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency have been wiped out and replaced with C.O.P (Civilian Overwatch Patrol) robot units. Johnny hates robots, loves guns, and his reputation for wanton destruction makes him the perfect fit for MAYHEM.
Deep Silver also confirmed that users who pre-order the game digitally will get access to Lazarus, “the hybrid of humanity and machinery,” as a playable character. Here’s a brief description of her:
True to her half-machine heritage, digital pre-order purchasers of Agents of Mayhem will be receiving a brand new Agent, Lazarus. This exclusive character, Lazarus, is a merging of woman and machine; the top rung of the evolutionary ladder. As an agent of MAYHEM, she encounters an endless stream of competitors ready to challenge her for that distinction. While she’s evolved beyond her own humanity, she still has a great love and respect for humankind as a whole. MAYHEM allows her to watch over those quirky human beings whose flaws and peculiarities continue to fascinate her to this day.
Agents of Mayhem is launching across PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on August 15th.

June 9, 2017 at 2:10 pmPutting a fan-favourite character behind a preorder is a really slimy move. I was going to get the game, but I’m having my doubts now.

June 9, 2017 at 4:21 pmSo you either get Gat from GameStop or Lazarus from digital, so you can’t get both even if you do pre-order?
And it’s not like GameStop sells PC games so if you’re a PC player you can’t get Gat at all in the US?
Fuck this shit, I’m just gonna pirate.

June 9, 2017 at 7:30 pmWhat a shitty business practise. I expected more of Deep Silver. Might as well rebrand to DP.

June 9, 2017 at 8:26 pmYou’d likely be able to get it for PC from GameStop if you pre-order. They won’t carry it otherwise.

June 9, 2017 at 8:28 pmSeems like the Complete Bullshit Edition is what this release is turning into.

June 10, 2017 at 4:36 amWell, looking at the steam page, Johnny’s listed as a pre-order bonus there. So presumably we get him by pre-ordering through steam?

June 10, 2017 at 5:45 amI guess they noticed the complete lack of interest in their game and decided to use Gat as bait to lure in preorders.

June 10, 2017 at 2:07 pmI’m certain they’ll see the correlation.

June 10, 2017 at 2:46 pmYou’ll mean the one we’ll get for a buck in a bundle within the year?
Yeah, that sounds about right.

June 10, 2017 at 3:12 pmThey have a shit ton of DLC so it’s not worth it to buy one of their games at launch.I wish that wasn’t the case because I loved every SR game I’ve played so far.
