Lionsgate’s CEO Jon Feltheimer hinted at a possible big-budget John Wick video game.

The film boss teased that they have been “fielding proposals” on a game based on the popular film franchise, which stars Keanu Reeves.

“I don’t want to get ahead of myself here, but we believe there is a big AAA game to be made out of John Wick,” Feltheimer said in an earnings call with investors (transcribed by Seeking Alpha).

He added, “We have been fielding proposals. We certainly are interested in moving that forward, but I don’t want to say anything more about that at this time”.

The movie franchise has certainly been a big hit at the box office, with the most recent film, John Wick Chapter 3 – Parabellum grossing over $327 million worldwide. There is also a fourth film in the series coming out on March 24, 2023.

It should be noted that there already have been video games based on the film series. John Wick Chronicles was a VR first person shooter, but has since been delisted from Steam. Meanwhile, John Wick Hex came out in 2019 with console ports released the following year.

However, both of these were smaller projects and Feltheimer mentioned a big AAA budget in his discussion on a potential game. If he is serious, then it sounds that some major developers are interested in creating a game based on the movie franchise, which isn’t surprising considering its aforementioned popularity.
