Tyffonium, a VR theme park in Japan has announced an upcoming Chocobo Racing attraction based on Final Fantasy XIV.

According to Famitsu, the attraction is expected to open in October 2026. Tyffonium is an “XR” theme park, but rather than traditional carnival attractions players are guided through a high quality VR experience.

Current programs at Tyffonium include a licensed adventure based on Stephen King’s IT, a haunted corridor, and several fantasy exploration simulations. You can check out Tyffonium’s full list here.

Presently, Tyffonium operates in Japan in the Tokyo metropolitan area with two locations, one in Shinjuku and another in Odaiba. However the company is planning to expand both domestically and internationally, especially as VR hardware becomes more accessible and advanced.
