Nintendo of Japan have announced that Japanese players can spend their My Nintendo Platinum Coins on Super Smash Bros. Ultimate-style invite letters.

For 400 Platinum Coins, users can get the Super Smash Bros. SPECIAL Letter Set (Translation: Google Translate), based on the invitational letters many of the DLC characters have received (or fought over) in trailers. This does not include shipping (¥500 JPY, or free with a shipment over ¥5000 JPY).

According to the Japanese Nintendo Store (Translation: Google Translate), the set comes with three 162mm by 114mm letters, six A5 double-sided sheets of paper, and three 30mm by 30mm PVC spounge “wax seal” stickers. “If you fold the notepaper in two, you will see the smash mark when you remove it from the envelope.”

Before you get your hopes up however, this offer is exclusive to Japan, and will not be shipped to other nations. Platinum Coins and Gold Coins are both part of the My Nintendo rewards points plan.

Platinum Coins are earned through playing Nintendo smartphone games- sometimes granting Platinum Coins specific for that game- and using other Nintendo services. They can typically be redeemed for wallpapers, in-game currencies for Nintendo smartphone games, and specific discounts on older titles.

Gold Coins offer a discount of $0.01 USD per Gold Coin on digital games. Those who buy a digital game get the equivalent of 5% of the price in Gold Coins (or 1% via physical games).
