It seems like the ultra-lewd anime series, Shimoneta: A Boring World Where the Concept of Dirty Jokes Doesn’t Exist (or Shimoneta for short) is too much for some people to handle.

Japanese media watchdog group Broadcasting Ethics and Program Improvement Organization (BPO) has published a summary of viewer comments they got in the month of July, including lots of complaints about the content in certain anime shows.

While the names of the anime are not revealed, the contents of the complaints make it pretty obvious as to what they’re filing complains over.

One complaint mentions a late-night anime that uses sound effects to mask words, with some being easily recognizable as dirty words for genitals. The complaint also cites “a gesture that suggests sexual intercourse.”

The complaint even goes on to say the show is just too much, because even children are able to guess what the vulgar expressions mean. It’s worth mentioning that Shimoneta premiered on late-night television in Japan, and basically pushes every line possible in sneaking crude language, gestures, and fanservice in (it’s also totally worth the watch!).

Another complaint involved a children’s anime that had girls in bathing suits. The comment said this is “unnecessary” in a children’s show, and it “lacks consideration,” as there are “many child predators.” This is probably relating to the ending sequence of PriPara, which featured scenes of girls on the beach, in bathing suits.
