• Jack Black added to cast of Minecraft live-action movie

    It’s been announced that Jack Black will be the latest addition to Warner Bros.’ upcoming live-action Minecraft movie.

    Jack Black will take on the role of Minecraft protagonist Steve (via Deadline) and will be accompanied by Jason Mamoa, Emma Myers, Danielle Brooks, and Sebastian Eugene Hansen. Jared Hess (Napoleon Dynamite and Nacho Libre) is set to direct the film.


    Jack Black is well-known for his many appearances in movies, TV shows, and even video games. Likely, his most notable role was Bowser in the Super Mario Bros. movie from 2023.

    Not much information has been released regarding the film’s story or its characters. The live-action Minecraft movie will make its way to theaters on April 4th, 2025.
