J.K. Rowling will be an active executive producer on the upcoming Harry Potter TV series.
Fans of the franchise were concerned whether or not Rowling would play an active role in the series due in to controversial statements she’s made in recent years.
Her political statements have led to boycott campaigns against last year’s game Hogwarts Legacy due to the game enriching Rowling through royalties; although Rowling was not involved in the creation of the game.
The upcoming TV series is meant to be a “faithful adaptation” of the original books and is expected to run for 10 years, one season each year. While this is a nice round number, an education at Hogwarts only takes 7 years, leaving us to wonder what the three extra seasons may be about.
The Harry Potter TV series is expected to air sometime in 2025 or 2026, meaning it will be quite some time before we see anything of it.
