Itagaki Games switches from LLC to joint stock company

Itagaki Games

Itagaki Games founder Tomonobu Itagaki has confirmed to Niche Gamer his company has changed from a limited liability company to a joint stock company, as of October 1st, amidst other changes at the company.

Furthermore, Itagaki Games LLC has been consolidated into Itagaki Games Inc., which has existed since 2010 as Itagaki Productions, but got renamed back on September 10th, 2024.

While a limited liability company is smaller in scope it cannot issue shares, bonds, and other securities like a joint stock company is able to – so it’s possible Itagaki Games is securing new funding for game development.

[ORIGINAL STORY]

A new report from Japanese media (via Gamebiz.jp) has found Itagaki Productions, founded back in September 2010, changed its name to Itagaki Games Co., Ltd. in September 2024 and apparently still exists. Coming from this, the media speculate that Itagaki Games has not shut down but changed its name to be consolidated or transferred to Itagaki Productions.
