Is the Memorable Sierra Entertainment Name Making a Comeback?

Sierra Entertainment is one of those developers that is very near and dear to my heart, as I experienced many of their games with joy in front of my good ol’ hand me down PC that my dad gave me.

They were known for games like King’s QuestSpace Quest, Quest for Glory, Gabriel Knight and Phantasmagoria, Pharaoh, Zeus, and so on. Why am I talking about a now absorbed/defunct brand? Well, if the above teaser is any indication, Activision seems to want to revive the name.

The teaser trailer just shows a rebranded Sierra logo, and it was made available on the newly opened Sierra.com website. What could Activision be planning? Perhaps a return to an older series, or a reboot?

The full reveal is supposed to go down sometime during Gamescom 2014, which takes place August 13-17 in Cologne, Germany.

Call me cynical, but it’ll probably be like when EA revived the “Origin” name: Nothing to really look forward to.

Wow that is cynicle, but considering the current trends in gaming, its understandable why people think that way. Hopefully something good comes out of this.

I’ll start to be excited once the Space Quest teaser scenes are released, haha.
