It’s not a stretch to think that Lords of the Fallen, the new game by former CD Projekt RED developers at CI Games, looks a lot like Dark Souls, another game published by Bandai Namco.
The game is described as a “hardcore” and “strategic third-person action RPG”. It’s being helmed by Tomasz Gop, the former senior producer of The Witcher 2. The development team promises an “advanced combat system” and “robust class skill trees.”
The story of Lords of the Fallen takes place in a fantasy world where gods have utterly failed mankind. The player fills the boots of a human named Harkyn, who begins a journey to fight a seemingly unstoppable, otherworldly force. Players will have to make decisions that will change the course of the game’s story, and the fate of the protagonist.
Lords of the Fallen is coming out some time later this year on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
