In a reveal that has surprised a lot of people, Nintendo has revealed a new handheld that is … certainly different from its predecessors.
Today they have revealed the 2DS, a slate version of the 3DS, only now it functions solely in 2D. The 2DS is meant to be an entry level handheld, retailing at $129.99, while a regular 3DS costs $169.99 and the 3DS XL currently retails for $199.99.
The Nintendo 2DS will launch on October 12th, a smart decision as that is the same day Pokemon X and Y are launching globally.
