Throwback narrative loop horror game Ire: A Prologue announced

Ire: A Prologue

Publisher and developer ProbablyMonsters has announced their other first game, Ire: A Prologue, a new narrative loop horror game inspired by 80s/90s classics.

Ire: A Prologue is in development for Windows PC (via Steam and the Epic Games Store), with a release set for October 28th.

Here’s a rundown on the game, plus its reveal trailer:

Inspired by 80s horror, Ire: A Prologue is a first-person, narrative horror game set in a loop with a terrifying monster.

Unravel the truth, one loop at a time

A missing father. A haunted ship. And thirteen doors to the truth.

Emily’s father has vanished — and the only clues to his disappearance lie aboard a ship lost deep in the Bermuda Triangle. To find him, and just maybe bring him back, you’ll have to unlock 13 mysterious doors hiding in the ship’s dark, narrow corridors — all with a monster stalking your every move. How far will you go to uncover the truth?

Nostalgia horror

A love letter to 80’s and 90’s horror, Ire: A Prologue immerses you in a haunting story from a young teenager’s perspective, inviting you to experience a dark world through the lens of her innocence and imagination— one loop at a time.

You hide, it seeks

A relentless monster is stalking you, and the only way to survive is to stay hidden. As you sneak around the ship, use your skills and size to outsmart it. Slip into clever hiding spots, squeeze into vents, and make noise to distract it. The smarter you get, the smarter it gets. So, listen closely, move carefully, and collect the clues before it finds you.

The start of a new horror franchise

This is just the beginning. Ire: A Prologue sets up the deep narrative behind the many mysteries that await in the Ire franchise. Emily’s story kicks off a chain of events that will forever change the world as we know it. Can you survive long enough to uncover the truth?
