Ion Fury: Aftershock Expansion DLC Announced, Launches Summer 2021

Ion Fury: Aftershock

3D Realms and Voidpoint have announced a DLC expansion for ’90s-inspired FPS Ion Fury, dubbed Aftershock.

As previously reported, Ion Fury is a ’90s-inspired FPS in the same style as Duke NukemBlood, and Shadow Warrior. You play as Shelly “Bombshell” Harrison, a veteran operative for the Global Defense Force that has been sent on her latest mission to take down the evil Dr. Jadus Heskel and his army of cybernetically enhanced cultists.

As stated in the press release, the game takes place after the main game. While celebrating at a local bar, Shelly learns Heskel is back. Armed with a new Hover Bike and weapons, Shelly charges across new zones to take him down.

Much like expansions from the era that inspired it, Aftershock has an Arrange Mode for the original game’s campign, offering new enemies and weapons.
“Aftershock continues Shelly’s story in the best way possible: with rockets and high-speed chases,” said Mike Nielsen, CEO of 3D Realms. “We love seeing the Build engine continue to grow and Ion Fury: Aftershock does some awesome things that we can’t wait to share with you.”
