Developed by She Was Such A Good Horse and published by Coffee Stain Publishing, co-op action roguelite Into the Unwell throws you into a surreal world inspired by classic rubber-hose animation.
You can tackle runs solo or team up with up to two friends while controlling a cast of interesting characters. The latest trailer shown at Day of the Devs focused on Charcat, but every playable character brings different strengths, weaknesses, and abilities to the table.
Instead of swords and rifles, you’ll find yourself fighting with items like a battered mop, a half-eaten ice cream cone, or even a lobotomized lollipop. Somehow, it all works perfectly with the game’s absurd tone.
Progression comes through upgrades and modifiers that can dramatically alter each run. You will also visit Lenny’s Pharmacy, where experimental enhancements can be mixed and matched to create increasingly ridiculous builds.
Here’s a new trailer for the game shared at this year’s Day of the Devs:
Originally planned for Steam Early Access, the project has now shifted toward a full release in 2027 thanks to additional support from Coffee Stain Publishing.
