Inti Creates Reveal Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 and New Gal Gun Sequel

Developers Inti Creates have announced two new games during their Inti Creates Fan Festa 2015, which happened today in the Harajuku Astro Hall, in Shibuya. Via Inside Games, we’ve discovered that sequels for both Azure Striker Gunvolt and Gun Gal are in the works.

Azure Striker Gunvolt is confirmed to be getting a sequel, which will be called Azure Striker Gunvolt 2. This is in the wake the of the Mega Man-like original’s success, which saw a release on the 3DS last year. Further details weren’t revealed but action game’s director, Yoshihisa Tsuda, did tease fans with some artwork for the game, which you can see above.

Gal Gun

We’ve also learned that a new Gal Gun title is in development, under the care of publisher Alchemist.

It’s set in the Sakurazaki Third High School a year after the events of the original game. Developers Inti Creates showed off a teaser trailer, which highlighted the characters Shinobu Kamizono, Maya Kamizono, and Kurona (pictured below). You can find snaps of the trailer below.

The platform for the Gal Gun sequel is unknown at the time of this writing, but we do know that it’s due for a release in Japan some time later this year.

Azure Striker Gunvolt had potential. I knew it wouldn’t be exactly like Mega Man Zero/ZX, and that’s fine. What we got instead was an insanely easy mess of a game. There’s a guy in front of you, here’s what you do:
    1) Shoot guy three times.
    2) Hold R-Button.
    3) Blaze through the room.
    4) You win.

This was the entire game, and it was over in an hour and a half. Both Mighty Number 9 and Azure Striker Gunvolt tried new ways to dispatch enemies and it made both games annoying to play and easy to exploit. But honestly, Gunvolt 2 could have the most unique, genre-defining gameplay mechanics that make me look upon the Zero series with disdain… and I’d still never play it.

Inti-Creates and Comcept allowed, I can only imagine, Dina and company to shove their nonsense SJW identity politics bullshit into the first game and they aren’t getting my money after that. Fire Dina, apologize for her actions on the forums and elsewhere and then we’ll talk. I don’t even want Mighty No. 9 anymore but I payed via Kickstarter and there’s nothing I can do about that.

    Fucking xe/xirs.

How am I supposed to pronounce that, anyway?

You pronounce it like “ze” or “zirs” because why not?

Seriously though anyone who uses those phrases unironically should be punched in the face. I’d like to make that a law.
