Insurgency: Sandstorm Operation Nightfall Update Now Live

Insurgency: Sandstorm

New World Interactive have released Operation Nightfall, a massive free update to their modern combat FPS, Insurgency: Sandstorm.

The update focuses primarily on the addition of night variants for all of the game’s maps, including the brand new Tideway map. Not only that, but the AI for co-op mode has been revamped for night missions.

The AI will have a harder time finding enemies, and rely more on muzzle flashes and sound to find the players. There’s also a ton of new equipment to go along with these night maps, including flashlights, night vision goggles, and night sights.

The Breacher class has received four new weapons as well, those being the Grease Gun and Honey Badger for Security, and the Sterling and AS Val for Insurgents. The Insurgents also gained a new sidearm, the Welrod pistol. Rounding out the new equipment are a variety of new unlockable cosmetics for both factions.

Finally, this update marks the release of the first round of cosmetic DLC packs. These include the Ghillie Gear Set, the Nightstalker Gear Set, the Red Dark Weapon Skin Set, and the Midnight Blue Weapon Skin Set. Each pack costs $2.99.
