Infamous Developer Sucker Punch Still Working on New Game, Not a Movie

This year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo has come and gone, and while Sony had quite a few developers and games to show off during their press conference, one studio they own was a no-show: Sucker Punch, the folks mostly known for their inFAMOUS superhero-powered games.

While the studio was confirmed to be working on something new since 2014’s inFAMOUS: Second Son and its DLC expansion First Light, we haven’t really heard anything about it since. Some fans were concerned they were sadly tasked with creating the movie based on their own Sly Cooper franchise.

Now, we’ve learned the developer is working on a game, news coming via an interview via GameSpot at this year’s E3. Sony Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida was naturally asked for an update on what the studio is doing.

“It’s a game,” he said. “They are not making movies. It’s now very narrow.” He went on to say he’s played the game quite a bit, hinting that it’s further in development than we thought.

“I have played many, many more times of such game; and every time I play…I shouldn’t be talking any more,” he said. Some rumors have pointed to the studio working on a new IP entirely, and not something set within the inFAMOUS universe.

Perhaps we’ll get a proper unveiling of the game at this year’s PlayStation Experience, which goes down in December? We’ll keep you guys posted.
