Indie Games to Watch in 2019: Early Access Part 2

After two weeks of posting these articles, we have finally reached the last one. Possibly. There’s still other games I think deserve attention, so don’t be surprised if a bonus round pops up soon.

Last time I looked at some of the Early Access games that are set to get a full release this year. The sheer number of Early Access games on Steam means that I can’t list them all, but hopefully I’ve introduced you to quite a few that you weren’t aware of.

Here’s 18 more Early Access games hitting 1.0 in 2019:

Breach
Developer: QC Games
Platforms: Windows PC
Price: $24.99 (Will be free-to-play upon full release)

Breach is a co-op focused action-RPG that just hit Early Access on the 17th, and is expected to get a full release sometime this Summer. The veil between worlds has collapsed, and now creatures of myth and legend are pouring into our reality. Form parties with other players to complete PvE missions, or become a Veil Demon to ambush unsuspecting adventurers.

Pax Nova
Publisher: Iceberg Interactive
Developer: Grey Wolf Entertainment
Platforms: Windows PC

Pax Nova is an upcoming sci-fi 4X, and isn’t even out yet. The reason I’m highlighting it is because when the game does hit Early Access, it will be more or less done. The Early Access period is only set to last a few months so the developers can get feedback and a larger number of players into the game to find any obscure bugs or glitches.

AI War 2
Developer: Arcen Games
Platforms: Windows PC, Mac, Linux
Price: $19.99

AI War 2 is the follow-up to Arcen’s popular grand strategy RTS that originally released back in 2009. The AI warmachines have won, reducing humanity to a negligible resistance group so small and insignificant it no longer considers them worth paying attention to. Show the AI the error of its ways by gradually building up your resistance and taking out key positions. Beware though, because if you draw too much attention to yourself you risk bringing the full might of the AI’s fleets down upon you. You can check out an interview I did with the developer here. AI War 2 is set to release in Q2 2019.

Oxygen Not Included
Developer: Klei Entertainment
Platforms: Windows PC, Mac, Linux

Oxygen Not Included is the game Klei Entertainment is currently working on. Build a thriving space colony on an inhospitable alien space rock. Fort Triumph is another pseudo XCOM-like game releasing from Early Access this year. Choose one of four factions, assemble a party of heroes, and set out for adventure in a fantasy world filled with danger.
