In-Engine Video Shows Us First Real Footage of Bard’s Tale IV

Looking at stills showing off the texture-work done in wooden beams and craggy rock walls is nice, but what people want to see is something in-engine. Well, you can count on inXile to deliver, because today they added a video to their Bard’s Tale IV project page on Kickstarter.

The video gives us some “fly-bys” of levels, and, at the very end, appears to give us an idea of what the start of an actual battle will be. The goblin’s laughter is a bit unsettling, but that’s probably what they’re going for. Regardless, the game is obviously looking terrific.

As for that beautiful background music, it is written and performed by Julie Fowlis. The lyrics are the poem from the original The Bard’s Tale, translated into Scottish Gaelic.
