The upcoming anime adaptation of I’m in Love with the Villainess will premiere this October as part of the Fall 2023 anime season.

The series follows a young Japanese woman who’s reincarnated as Rae Taylor, the protagonist of an otome game. Rather than follow the story and pursue one of the three male love interests, she instead persists in trying to start a relationship with the game’s villainess!

I’m in Love with the Villainess began as a novel series in 2018 and ended in 2021. The manga is still ongoing.

Back in 2021 the series was at the center of a localization controversy. Some lines of text where Rae becomes self-critical of her own behavior were allegedly removed.

However after the backlash Seven Seas Entertainment corrected their translation in future releases.
