An anime film based on the multimedia project Idol bu Show will hit Japanese theaters this summer.

Idol bu Show began in 2019 as simply a collection of images and music CDs, building up a roster of performing idol characters. This upcoming film represents the first full story told in the Idol bu Show universe.

The series features idols battling it out on the stage. The gimmick? Each idol group is produced by a sengoku-era warrior who has been reincarnated as a music producer.

Who will come out on top in the Warring Idols period? At the time of publishing, a western release has yet to be announced.
