We couldn’t help but notice last month that Idea Factory International had successfully received a rating for Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 1 on PC – curiously before the enhanced port even arrived on the Playstation Vita.

We had some fans write in asking if we had an update on this, and despite the PR styled response we got, it’s definitely worth reading. Our response came from Haru Akenaga, the president of Idea Factory International, who said:

“There is no denying that we are interested in bringing Neptunia Re;Birth1 to the PC, so we went ahead and obtained an ESRB rating for the PC version of Neptunia Re;Birth1. However, it doesn’t mean we can confirm its release on the PC at this particular moment. There are still many technical matters that we will have to work on and finalize before we can confirm anything. We plan on making an official announcement once we are certain that we can bring this title to the PC market. It may take a while until that day comes, but we hope to follow up with an update for you in the very near future.”

So despite the seemingly “no comment” nature of the response, it definitely sounds like they’re seriously considering a PC port. Could we be seeing it launch simultaneously on Playstation Vita and PC?

We still don’t have a release date for the Vita port, although it’s slated for sometime in “late summer.” We’ll keep you guys posted.
