Koei Tecmo has confirmed Toon Link will be joining the fray in Hyrule Warriors Legends, their upcoming Nintendo 3DS port of the Legend of Zelda-musou game.

While Toon Link is being added to the game, there’s a new weapon, a new scenario, and more.

The King of Hyrule and Tetra will be joined by Toon Link of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker fame.

Toon Link brandishes his one-handed sword and shield when fighting, although he is still fast as he freely moves around the battlefield, attacking his enemies. He has a high jump, and can use a Deku Leaf, and even slam his sword.

If you get Hyrule Warriors Legends for the Nintendo 3DS, you’ll also get Toon Link in Hyrule Warriors for Wii U.

A new story is being added to the game, based on The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. This new scenario will integrate Link, Tetra, and the King of Hyrule into the main game’s story, in a fun way.

There’s also a new stage that will recapture the world of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. There will be loads of homages to the original game, in this map.
