Koei Tecmo has confirmed Toon Link will be joining the fray in Hyrule Warriors Legends, their upcoming Nintendo 3DS port of the Legend of Zelda-musou game.
While Toon Link is being added to the game, there’s a new weapon, a new scenario, and more.
The King of Hyrule and Tetra will be joined by Toon Link of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker fame.
Toon Link brandishes his one-handed sword and shield when fighting, although he is still fast as he freely moves around the battlefield, attacking his enemies. He has a high jump, and can use a Deku Leaf, and even slam his sword.
If you get Hyrule Warriors Legends for the Nintendo 3DS, you’ll also get Toon Link in Hyrule Warriors for Wii U.
A new story is being added to the game, based on The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. This new scenario will integrate Link, Tetra, and the King of Hyrule into the main game’s story, in a fun way.
There’s also a new stage that will recapture the world of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. There will be loads of homages to the original game, in this map.
Helmaroc King from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker is also going to reappear in this map, as an enemy.
He can attack you with his piercing beak attacks, and can easily puncture the ground.
The Hammer is being added to Hyrule Warriors. By slamming the hammer into the ground, you can stun the enemies that surround you. You can also utilize the hammer to unlock areas in the level.
The Ocarina from The Legend of Zelda is also making a return in Hyrule Warriors Legends. When playing the Ocarina, a tornado is unleashed, enabling you to teleport to any one of the Owl Statues in the level.
Hyrule Warriors Legends is launching sometime in the spring of next year in Japan.
