Nintendo has announced that Hyrule Warriors will be getting an update to enable Amiibo functionality this month.

If you tap the Link Amiibo on the Wii U’s GamePad, you’ll unlock the “Spinner” weapon, which The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess fans will instantly recognize. You’ll be able to destroy your foes in Hyrule Warriors, using this weapon.

Nintendo also confirmed that scanning in other Amiibo figurines (that are Super Smash Bros. Wii U compatible) will do other things in the game, like getting randomly selected rupees, weapons, or materials.

The Hyrule Warriors’ The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess downloadable content is also coming the same day as the Amiibo update.
