Nintendo has confirmed some new details for Hyrule Warriors, their upcoming Dynasty Warriors inspired spinoff with lots of Zelda characters, locales, and so on.
The game is being developed in collaboration between Omega Force and Team Ninja, and it’s actually being poised as a combination of the styles that both studios are known for.
Players will step into the boots of Link, Impa, and “many other surprising playable characters,” each of which have their own signature weapons and unique attack animations. Whichever character you pick, you’ll be battling the armies of the evil sorceress Cia, to the end of rescuing Princess Zelda.
The first stage of the game is indeed the iconic Hyrule Field, a locale that should inspire warm and fuzzy feelings within any Zelda fan. Each stage will be broken up in a style similar to the Dynasty Warriors games, meaning you’ll be moving from area to area defeating huge legions of enemies, and capturing areas in your quest to reclaim Hyrule. While Cia has new enemies under her wing, there will be some returning favorites like Bokoblins and Lizalfos.
