Compile Heart will have Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory II do a crossover of sorts with Tozai Games’ Spelunker Z, it was recently announced, and we now have a fairly good picture of what that will look like. VII will include a special dungeon (featured above), called “Neplunker”, which is focused on arcade action gameplay, as follows:
- Energy: essentially stamina, energy is depleted when players initiate battles with the dungeon’s enemies, which are bats and ghosts.
- Limited lives: introduces a limit to the amount of times a player can challenge this special dungeon; if a player’s lives reach zero, it’s game over.
- The following will cause damage: falling (even half of the character’s height is too much); getting hit by bat guano; touching steam or fire; and depleting all of the character’s energy.
- Thankfully, there are items in Neplunker that increase energy, grant additional lives, and double the character’s speed.
Compile Heart recommends that players save before they enter the dungeon.
More new screenshots have also been released for the game, which you can rifle through below. In other news, VII‘s box art and the album covers for the opening theme song were recently revealed, as was the opening movie.
Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory II will be available on the Playstation 4 in Japan as of April 23.
