Hyperdimension Neptunia: Sisters vs. Sisters

Compile Heart has announced new RPG Hyperdimension Neptunia: Sisters vs. Sisters for both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, with a release set for April 2022 in Japan.

Hyperdimension Neptunia: Sisters vs. Sisters is launching on April 21st, 2022 for both PS4 and PS5 in Japan, news confirmed in the latest Famitsu (also via ryokutya2089).

Hikaru Yasui is director on Hyperdimension Neptunia: Sisters vs. Sistersand the game stars the little sisters of main series’ protagonists Nepgear, Uni, Rom, and Ram. The story takes place when the the little sisters wake up after being put to sleep for several years by a mysterious person, only to find their older sisters have disappeared. They find smartphones called “magic phones” have taken over the market and Planeptune has succumbed to the “buzzer phenomenon”, which attracted loads of monsters.

Battles are real-time and have three party members fighting at once, with the characters not controlled by the player being run by AI. You can switch between characters and unleash different combo skills, the latter of which are possible with a single button. Tactical skills, which are used via a separate gauge being filled up, can also be used when pairing up multiple character abilities.

The game world is open and can be explored and investigated freely by players, while the PlayStation 5 version gives a better sense of immersion, also further immersed with the DualSense controller’s haptic feedback support. All four girls have new character models that aren’t based on the originals.
