Drafthouse Films has announced Humanist Vampire Seeking Consenting Suicidal Person is now available for streaming worldwide, on a multitude of platforms and services.
Directed by Ariane Louis-Seize and winner of several film festivals including the Venice Film Festival, Humanist Vampire stars young vampire Sasha (Sara Montpetit) with a serious problem: she’s too sensitive to kill humans.
Sasha’s parents become exhausted supporting her idyllic vampire lifestyle of not killing to feed on blood so they cut off her blood supply. Her life in jeopardy, Sasha meets Paul (Félix Antoine-Bénard), a lonely and potentially suicidal teenager who agrees to give up his life to save hers.
What comes after this is a night filled with adventure to fulfill Paul’s final wishes as a condition to save Sasha that night, all of which happening before day break.
Humanist Vampire Seeking Consenting Suicidal Person is now available to buy or rent on a number of services including: AppleTV, Amazon, Google Play/YouTube, Fandango, and cable on-demand.
The film’s official synopsis reads, “Sasha is a young vampire with a very serious problem: she’s too sensitive to kill! Frustrated by their daughter’s empathy for humans, Sasha’s parents decide to cut off her blood supply to force her to learn how to hunt… or starve! Just as she decides to reject her vampire instincts and embrace a final death, she meets a lonely teenager named Paul who is willing to give his life to save hers, on the condition that she help to fulfill his final wishes before day breaks.”
