How to get the Shotgun in Alan Wake 2

Alan Wake 2 how to get shotgun shotgun

The rules are simple: I see a shotgun in a horror game, I want it. Check out our guide on how to get the shotgun in Alan Wake 2.

Alan Wake 2 is surprisingly light in combat, but sometimes a shotgun is more than a weapon, becoming an emotional support tool in such scary and trying times.

The shotgun can be found inside of the General Store, but will be hidden from view during chapter one. Players in the second chapter of the game will be taken to the General Store again, as part of the main story mission, but this time will be attacked by an axe-wielding taken.

The taken bursts out of a wall, no doubt scaring the player, but also giving Saga access to a backroom that was previously locked. In this backroom, players will find the shotgun locked away behind a display case, and attached to the display there’s a note that reads: “Check with Lady Fortuna at the counter”.

If you want to solve the puzzle for yourself, this is where you should stop reading. Below is the puzzle’s solution:

Going to the store’s counter, players will find a lotto ticket, as well as a piece of paper with several numbers written down. The numbers on the paper read: 705, 713, 717, 723, while the numbers on the lotto ticket read: 05, 13, 17, 23, 39, 45.

If you didn’t catch the pattern yet, the code has been changed multiple times according to the lotto ticket. The last code was 23, meaning that the current one is 39, so the solution to the padlock is 739.

There you have it, now you are the proud owner of a sawed-off shotgun, which comes loaded with 2 bullets. Make good use of them.

Alan Wake 2 is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Microsoft Windows (through the Epic Games Store).
