Housemarque, the name that brought you some of the most addictive arcade games in recent memory, has announced their newest title, Alienation. Revealed at Gamescom in Cologne, Germany, Alienation is an arcade action title, reminiscent of their previous works. In the last few years, the studio has brought gamers titles such as Super Stardust HD, Dead Nation, and Resogun. Alienation is described as both a brand new concept and the spiritual successor to Dead Nation.

• Unleash a devastating array of conventional, hybrid and Alien weaponry and eliminate the Alien masses with extreme firepower in massively destructible environments.
• Experiment with different player classes, upgrade key skills and customize weapons to create your own hero character that suits the way you play.
• Join forces online and show off your skills in action packed co-op multiplayer or invade other players’ games as a single minded mercenary bounty hunter.
• Collect loot and clues to discover the truth behind the Alien invasion.
• Track your kills and compare statistics against those of other players, and help players all around the world to stop the Aliens from taking over.

The trailer above was aired during the Sony press conference in Germany. In it, we see one space marine finish his sweep, then be brutally slain by a rogue mutant alien. The gameplay is shown featuring swift movement, hundreds of enemies on screen, and the option to either support your team or back stab them in the heat of battle
