Horizon: Zero Dawn Update 1.30 Now Available – Adds Ultra Hard Mode, More

Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced that update 1.30 is now available for Horizon: Zero Dawn.

The new update brings with it a New Game+ mode, as well as an Ultra Hard difficulty, amongst other bug fixes and progression tweaks.

You can find the full patch notes below:

Patch Summary

  • New game+ added for players who want to play through the game with their existing gear.
  • Ultra Hard mode is added for the players that are up for another challenge!
  • Added two new trophies to the game: One for completing New game+ and one for completing New game+ in ultra-hard mode.
  • Added support for all EU and US text Languages on EU and US games.

General Fixes

  • Fixed an issue for some players in “The Looming Shadow” where two guards would disappear after Blameless Marad speaks to them.
  • Fixed an issue for certain players with the Lodge Ropecaster where the ropecaster’s anchors that are automatically shot in the ground would not stick to the terrain while shooting from a crouched position.
  • Fixed an issue for some players where bandit camps would incorrectly display as ‘Undiscovered’ within the world map if the player had cleared all bandit camps.
  • Fixed an issue with “Cauldron Zeta” where for some players the quest log would disappear after completing the quest.
  • Fixed an issue that some players encountered with the animations of Aloy. When the player would perform a melee attack and use the Focus almost simultaneously, it would cause Aloy’s upper body to twist unnatural for a moment.
  • Fixed an issue with the humanoid scream and attack indicators.
  • Fixed an issue in “Deep Secrets of the Earth” where for some players the data points in Sobeck’s office were not obtainable if the player wanted to pick them after the explosion caused by Helis, as they had disappeared.
  • Fixed an issue with the Tearblaster statistics being incorrectly displayed in the weapon wheel.

Progression Issues Fixes

  • Fixed an issue in “Field of the Fallen” where for some players Erend would not appear and thus blocked progression of this quest.
  • Fixed an issue in “The City of the Sun” where some players might teleport through the protester scene, blocking progression as Erend would not open the door to Olin’s apartment.

Crash Fixes

  • Fixed miscellaneous crashes.

Miscellaneous Fixes

  • Minor text fixes.

Added new trophies for beating it again and for ultra hard mode? Nice. I love when new content updates gets new trophies go to after, really keeps a game alive for me. I hope to see this more often!

I like the idea of a NG+ it gives me a reason to play it again X) But I’m not a fan of the trophy part… m(_ _)m
I’m all for adding more content after a game’s release and I’m fine with adding more trophies for DLC content but not adding them straight into the main game, especially months after launch :/

Having just checked, it’s counted as add on trophies with the two trophies under the name new game + so it shouldn’t affect the platinum or anything.

Oh really? Thx for telling me. I haven’t been on my PS4 yet to check but that’s cool. The article made it sound like something else so my bad. :)

There actually isn’t propaganda pushed down your throat. Just some fake diversity.

What an awesome update – this is how you do DLC properly – difficulty modes shouldn’t be part of it *stares at Zelda*. I’m a bit busy with other games at the moment, but I may try the new difficulty when the new area comes this winter.

Hey, remember that game you just got a platinum and 100% for? Not anymore!

So what is “ultra hard” mode anyway? More machines that randomly smack you from off camera? All machines have more HP? A lot of the combat in Horizon was all right, but unless you found some geography you could cheese the larger machines on, they were just annoying to fight.

Fake diversity in a far future post apocalyptic fantasy setting with robot dinosaurs? Is there some real world equivalent you’re basing that on?

The platinum is not affected by the new trophies.

The larger machines are pretty easy to take down if you lose the right weapons.

Yes. Real police, military and science departments – those a pretty universal no matter how many apocalypses you had.

Yes, do you need some clarification on what I said?

If you think it would help, because as is, your comment seems to imply that no event could be catastrophic enough to restart civilization, a statement that would be patently false.

  14. Mr0303
    July 7, 2017 at 9:16 pm

How does my comment imply any of that? All I said is that there is fake diversity in the game. All military leaders and police chiefs are women. The best hunter is a woman. The most prominent blacksmith/engineer is a woman. More than half of the genius level scientists on project Zero Dawn are women. This is the fake diversity I was referring to.

    come on man
this game not only has stronk independant womyn EVERYWHERE NO MATTER WHERE YOU LOOK but it also makes every single good male character who isn’t a minority (wich are actually majorityes in this world) a complete beta cuck faggot…
    And when i saw Gaia
not only was she an E3 2017 tier dinduess but when they descrived her program
“Gaia had to be surrounded by surrogate funcitons that would suport and empower her” blablabla
this is the frace that stuck in my mind and i can tell you there manymany more where it came from (i’m just way to lazy to youtube’em right now)
there’s a metric fuck ton of femitard lingo crammed into the story, i listened to enough femitard during the GG shitstorm just so that i could easily debunk their bullshit and they talk exaclty like a fuckload of the characters in this game
    The poz is real
so real that if you started a drinking game for every pozzed shit that happens you’d be drunk before the end of the prologue

The fake diversity is definitely there, but there isn’t a forced narrative and there are a couple of things that are big No-Noes for the progressive ideology like portraying minority men as villains and the same goes for the female elders who were unfair to Aloy. The only matriarchy in this world is the least technically evolved civilisation. There are likeable male characters and they aren’t portrayed all as monsters, which again is a big taboo for the feminist narrative. The smartest person in the world is male and so are the greatest kings.

I don’t get what was wrong with Gaia – she’s the main maintenance function and had sub systems named after different gods to keep everything going.

right it’s propaganda for feminist only, everyone knows that men rule everything…
so would it be more realistic if it was 90% men an few women?

is their no feasible outcome were 90% of the men wanted war an power to the point they kill the majority them self off an women end up ruling what left? nah that fake diversity.

“would it be more realistic if it was 90% men an few women?” – in the military positions most definitely.

“is their no feasible outcome were 90% of the men wanted war an power to
the point they kill the majority them self off an women end up ruling
what left?” – this is not how war works and it’s definitely not the case in the game.

No real issue with gaia but i did laugh that she reminded me sooooo much of that black chinck in uncharted, then E3 rolled in and there she was again in Wolfestein, Mafia, Beyond Goof & Evil 2 and at least 2 or 3 other games, the exact same desingn, I laughed cus they all wanted to be pregressive introducing a stronk independant womyn of color and they all used the exact same character design

The Matriarchy stuff made me laugh too, i’ve seen feminist argue agaisnt scientifics advances in civilisation and the need of humanity to go back to its roots, pretty much what the Nora were, and as i sayd, any male character that wasnt a minority was a beta cuck, the moustached guy with a hammer was his sister bitch and then Aloy’s bitch once the sister dies, same with Jiran Jr, Rost or the bandit hunters where the less cucky white male characters and they didn’t have all that screen time. i also laughed again when the one in charge of creating Apolo (the acumulation of mankind’s knowledge, was a Muslim Womnn, as if Science wasn’t haram for those theocrats
I tell you man, the entire game scrip was written using feminist lingo

Far Cry does the exploration and crafting better
Monster Hunter does the Monster (or dino robots in this case) fights better
and practically any other game does climbing, stealth and shotting better
Play this only if you want a jack of all trades, master of none kinda game

I can see your point with Avad and Erend – they were a bit submissive, but I must disagree about Rost – he was a competent father figure and possibly the best male character in the game.

I absolutely agree that the Muslim woman being in charge of the children’s education was beyond stupid.

I think we’re pretty much in agreement over the idiotic moments of the game, but I think the feminist narrative wasn’t explicit. There was no “women were always oppressed by men” and “rape culture” narrative in the game. Same with “white supremacy” – the most genocidal character in the game is a brown dude. That being said they tried their hardest to make the game “diverse” to the point of stupidity – most military leaders and scientists were women – really?

I did say that Rust and the bandit hunter were the 2 exceptions to the rule
and yes it’s treu that the feminist narrative isn’t explicit, but it is there, subtle enough for those unittated into feminist lunacy to not notice it

The bad guy reminded me of a fusion between Zoran Lazarević adn Kothal Khan and he looked fairly white to me, as for the hacker the guy is shady as fuck bout is still unclear if he is a badguy, for all we know he may be trying to stop those who send the signal to awaken Ares from fucking up humanity again

My greatest disapointmente with this game was when i finally thought there’d be a challenge sneaking past a bounch of guys wearing a focus only to the hacker to showup and EMP the fuck outta all the enemy focuses

I wouldn’t call it narrative since the story wasn’t focused on it, but the game definitely tried to be as progressive as possible.

On a purely gameplay and story level I enjoyed the game, but the fake diversity really irked me. Not to mention Ashly Burch’s terrible voice acting.
