Publisher and developer miHoYo has announced Honkai: Star Rail update 3.6 is set to launch later this month.
The new update, “Back to Earth in Evernight”, will go live for all platforms on September 24th. Fans can expect a new Trailblaze Mission where Miss Evernight reveals her vision of “Era Nova,” new playable characters, new story bits, and more.
Here’s a rundown on the new update, plus a trailer:
In Version 3.6, Trailblazers will cross paths once more with familiar faces from the Astral Express—in striking new forms—as Evernight and Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae officially join the playable roster. Notably, Trailblazers at Level 3 or above can claim Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae at no cost for a limited time. Alongside these long-awaited arrivals, Version 3.6 introduces a wealth of new content: test your team-building prowess in the high-difficulty challenge “Anomaly Arbitration,” or dive into the unbridled energy of “Colorful Mayhem,” a multiplayer event packed with seasonal fun.
In the chapters ahead, Amphoreus stands at a crossroads, and its future course remains uncertain. As the new storyline unfolds, Miss Evernight reveals her vision of “Era Nova”—a path that diverges from the prevailing creed of salvation, yet one she is determined to pursue to save the world. At the same time, Dan Heng prepares to return to Amphoreus once again, willing to face any risk for the sake of reuniting with the Express Crew!
This update introduces two new playable characters. First to arrive is Evernight, who casts off her shroud of mystery to join players’ teams as a 5-star Ice character following the Path of Remembrance. According to Evernight, she embodies the forgotten past of March 7th—existing solely to protect her future. Evernight excels at fighting alongside memosprites. While she is in the team, she increases the CRIT DMG of all memosprites, and the more characters following the Path of Remembrance present, the greater the bonus becomes. When Evernight summons her memosprite “Evey,” she gains “Memoria.” The more “Memoria” she accumulates, the higher Evey’s DMG grows. Once “Evey” reaches a certain stack count, “Evey” immediately takes action, dealing DMG to all enemies. Evernight’s Ultimate not only deals DMG to all enemies, but also places both herself and “Evey” into a special enhanced state known as “Darkest Riddle.” In this state, both of their DMG is increased. Furthermore, while in “Darkest Riddle,” using a Skill grants Evernight additional “Memoria,” further boosting Evey’s DMG.
Another highly anticipated character from the Astral Express, Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae, officially joins the playable roster. In Version 3.6, after wielding the Azure Dragon’s power of Imbibitor Lunae, Dan Heng takes another step on the path of Permanence and unlocks his own power of Permansor Terrae. This new strength allows him to offer broader protection to the team. In combat, Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae can designate one teammate as a Bondmate and summon a Souldragon for them, while granting a stackable Shield to all allies. When the Souldragon acts, it dispels one debuff from all allies and grants an additional Shield. When Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae uses his Ultimate, he deals DMG to all enemies and grants Shields to the entire team. At the same time, the Souldragon is enhanced. When it acts, it performs a Follow-up ATK against all enemies and deals DMG based on the Bondmate’s combat abilities. Additionally, from the start of Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae’s Warp until the end of Version 4.0, Trailblazers with Trailblaze Level 3 or above who log in can claim the 5-star character Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae for free.
The brand-new periodic high-difficulty trial “Anomaly Arbitration” makes its debut in this update. This gameplay consists of 3 trial stages and 1 final stage. In the trial stages, Trailblazers must form three separate teams to take on the trial stages, and upon clearing them will advance to the final stage. By completing all stages, Trailblazers can obtain the new item “Interference Key” as well as other valuable rewards. In addition, a variety of events will gradually become available, including the dromas-raising event “Nice Weather for Dromases” and the event “Colorful Mayhem.” Finally, this update introduces the Main Story Replay feature. Trailblazers can revisit completed Trailblaze Missions, Trailblaze Continuances, and Companion Missions, and freely choose specific story segments or cutscenes to experience once more.
