Publisher and developer miHoYo has announced Honkai: Star Rail update 3.2 is launching next month, bringing with it a new map and more.
The new “Through the Petals in the Land of Repose” update will launch on April 9th for all supported platforms. Fans can expect new characters Castorice (Remembrance) and Anaxa (Erudition), and new celebratory content for the game’s second anniversary.

In this update, the Trailblazers and Chrysos Heirs will face trials of survival and political intrigue as their Flame-Chase Journey unfolds. The debut of new 5-star characters Castorice (Remembrance) and Anaxa (Erudition) adds further spectacle and charm in the quest to unravel the enigmas of Amphoreus.
At the same time, to celebrate the upcoming Two-Year Anniversary of Honkai: Star Rail, the game has prepared a series of special events and rewards for players. In Version 3.2, the “Festive Gifts” anniversary-exclusive event will debut, allowing players to claim 20 free pulls via daily check-ins. On April 26, the anniversary date, Trailblazers will receive a commemorative in-game card from a companion and 1,600 Stellar Jades as a gift. Additionally, players can claim one free 5-star character of their choice between Ruan Mei or Luocha.
With the disappearance of the Death Titan Thanatos and the unexpected fall of Oronyx, the Trailblazers will journey alongside the Chrysos Heir Castorice to the forgotten city-state of Styxia—a ruined place submerged in the Sea of Souls, strewn with colossal dragon bones and haunted by wandering spirits. Guided by an ancient lantern, players will gradually unravel the ancient truth behind the Titans and the draconic calamity through fragmented tales told by spectral residents. However, the exploration takes a perilous turn when the party confronts Pollux, a leviathan slumbering in the depths of the River of Souls. This HP-manipulating foe forces the team to meticulously monitor their vitality during combat. One misstep could spell catastrophe.
Beyond external dangers, the heroes face internal strife as well. Okhema’s Council of Elders aims to halt the Flame-Chase Journey through a council vote, while the unliving scholar Anaxa, sustained by the Coreflame of Cerces, complicates matters further. His secret dealings with the Council of Elders hint at a shadowy alliance. As the mysteries of Styxia intertwine with Okhema’s political machinations, the Trailblazer’s journey grows ever more treacherous, with their expedition and the Flame-Chase Journey facing even more challenges.
As the Flame-Chase Journey delves deeper, players will encounter escalating challenges. In the new update, two formidable 5-star characters—Castorice (Remembrance) and Anaxa (Erudition) will join the roster as vital allies to the Trailblazers. Among the two, Castorice, the cursed daughter of the River of Souls, has already captivated many with her tragic backstory. Born under the Touch of Death as a Chrysos Heir seeking the lost Coreflame of Death, she wields the Netherwing, a spectral entity born from eons of memories and divine authority. This dragon manifests after Castorice unleashes her Ultimate, burning its own HP to scorch all enemies with dragonflame. While active, the Netherwing syncs up with Castorice to deliver devastating joint attacks. When allies lose HP, it is converted into HP for Netherwing, further amplifying this unit and Castorice’s DMG. Furthermore, when in dire straits, it shields the party by taunting foes, only to erupt in a sacrificial blaze upon leaving the field, dealing additional damage while healing allies.
Castorice also wields a unique survival mechanic: When any ally suffers a killing blow in combat, they do not fall immediately, but are instead temporarily sustained in a near-death state. During this window, fulfilling specific conditions allows the character to recover and rejoin the battle. Remarkably, this ability remains active even if Castorice is not in the team.
The highly anticipated 5-star character Anaxa will also join players’ teams. A member of the Seven Sages of the Grove of Epiphany and founder of the Nousporism, Anaxa’s life was irrevocably altered by the enigmatic black tide that stole so many things precious to him. This ordeal also reshaped his understanding of souls and the fabric of reality, driving him to dedicate himself entirely to scholarly pursuits with further vigor. In combat, Anaxa’s attacks randomly apply Weaknesses to enemies. As these stacks reach a requisite amount on an enemy, he can trigger Qualitative Disclosure, a unique state that increases his damage and allows him to unleash a follow-up Skill Attack without consuming Skill Points. His Ultimate ability inflicts Sublimation on all enemies, instantly applying 7 Weaknesses to them.
Additionally, in the first half of Version 3.2, a special Warp event will debut, featuring simultaneous reruns of the limited 5-star characters Fugue, Jiaoqiu, and Acheron. During the second half, the limited 5-star character “Dr. Ratio” will also return. These seasoned allies will bring indispensable power to players’ trailblazing expedition, offering strategic depth in both exploration and combat. Additionally, during the preview livestream, the development team announced that they will address player demands relating to the old character improvements. In Version 3.4, Silver Wolf, Blade, Kafka, and Jingliu will receive balance adjustments. The specifics of these changes will be announced in future updates, so stay tuned!
Amidst their adventures, Trailblazers can also dive into Seal Slammers (officially titled the “So Dang Fun Seal Bumping Duel Challenge Seal Slammers”), a whimsical mini-game where players compete against their Chrysos Heir allies in chaotic seal-based collisions. Sponsored exclusively by Aglaea, this edition of the event runs an extended duration, giving players more time to revel in its lighthearted mayhem.
To celebrate the two-year anniversary of Honkai: Star Rail, the game will launch a series of special events, offering players a vibrant array of experiences. In the Star Rail WORLD event, Trailblazers will collaborate with old friends to organize a pan-cosmic gala. Players must employ strategic management to generate funds, elevate the venue’s tiers, and recruit trusted companions for support. As resources grow, new exhibition booths and Assistants will be unlocked, allowing the festivities to expand into a grander spectacle.
The Honkai: Star Rail Concert will be grandly held at the SPD Bank Oriental Sports Center from May 1st to 3rd, 2025. This concert will feature three live performances and include a global livestream on May 3rd, allowing players worldwide to join this audiovisual spectacle. Additionally, official “Star Rail LIVE 2025 Special Screenings” will take place in multiple cities globally throughout May. Attendees can enjoy exclusive merchandise giveaways and themed interactive activities for a fully immersive experience.
