Hogwarts Legacy beats Fallout 4 as second largest single player launch on Steam

Hogwarts Legacy

The video game based on the popular Harry Potter franchise, Hogwarts Legacy, has been off to an astounding start and it hasn’t even officially been launched yet.

According to SteamDB, the peak player count has surpassed Fallout 4 as the second biggest launch for a single player title. The top spot is still held by Cyberpunk 2077.

Overall, the game is currently placed at 13th in top sales – which beats out other popular titles such as Grand Theft Auto V, Among Us, and even Skyrim.

This is certainly good news for developer Avalanche Software and publisher Warner Bros. Games to see their game be so successful.

These numbers are also especially major given this is only just for the Steam version of the game.

The sales numbers don’t take into account the console and Epic Game Store releases. Also as mentioned earlier, this also the early access launch reserved for owners of the more expensive deluxe edition of the game.

Meanwhile, the full launch is set for this week. Given the current numbers so far, it’s likely that Hogwarts Legacy could have a shot in beating out Cyberpunk 2077’s current title.

Hogwarts Legacy is set to launch on February 10th, 2023 across Windows PC (via Steam), Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. The previous gen-ports are coming on April 4th for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 and on July 25th for Nintendo Switch.
