IO Interactive have revealed a new location for Hitman 3, along with the game being exclusive to the Epic Games Store for one year.
The new location is set in the Thornbridge Manor in Dartmoor, England. While full of meadows, hilltops, rivers, and wetlands, the area is home to a luxurious mansion. However, players may have to play detective to solve a recent murder.
The Clue-inspired Mission Story will task players with uncovering “whodunit,” and deal with them as a hitman is expected to. It is not just the manor itself that is full of secrets however, and careful observation and the use of secret passages are sure to help them track down the culprit.
Pre-orders are revealed to be available later in August, but also that the game will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store on PC for 12 months.
“As an independent studio,” the blog post reads, “our partnership with Epic has given us the freedom to create HITMAN 3 exactly as we imagined and self-publish the game to our players directly. It’s also important to us that we honour the time our existing PC players have spent in our previous games.”
As such, users will be able to carry over their progression and unlocks from Hitman 2 on Steam to the Epic Game Store’s version of Hitman 3. Players will also be able to import locations from Hitman and Hitman 2 into Hitman 3. “We want to make it a seamless process for our PC players to enjoy HITMAN 3 on a different PC platform and continue to enjoy the benefits of our World of Assassination.”
