Rick and Morty series co-creator and lead of new game High on Life, Justin Roiland, is facing felony domestic violence charges.
The newly surfaced charges stem from an incident which occurred back in May 2020 (via NBC News). Roiland has plead not guilty to these charges.
Roiland has been hit with one count of domestic battery with corporal injury and one count of false imprisonment by menace, violence, fraud and/or deceit. His alleged victim was someone he had been dating since January of 2020.
These charges are not new in regards to when they were filed. The filing had occurred back in October 2020, but information has only just come out. Despite the long period of time since he was arraigned, there still has been no trial date set as of this writing.
His recently released game, High on Life, came out last month to resounding success. In fact, it was the biggest launch for Xbox Game Pass for 2022 despite coming out in December.
