Nippon Ichi Software have announced (via Famitsu) a full remake of Hero Must Die, a game that was originally developed for mobile by the Oreshika designer (and studio G Mode), Shoji Masuda.

The game puts the player in the role of a hero that has just vanquished the devil king – his only problem is that now he only has five days left to fulfill the remainder of his life. The new PS Vita remake will come with new characters, and new story scenarios.

Hero Must Die will launch on February 15th of next year, in Japan. Further details weren’t confirmed, but we’ll keep you guys posted.

Sounds cool to me. Nice to see NIS developing bigger games for Vita again. Hasn’t been much from them since Disgaea 4

I was this ready to call NIS on their previous announcement of shifting development focus to PS4…
…But this doesn’t really kinda count.

They did announce Yomawari for the Vita recently. And I think they said that with regards to consoles, which portables are usually differentiated from.
