We’ve gotten a look at the Japanese box art and a brand new class for Etrian Mystery Dungeon, courtesy of Famitsu.
First up, it’s the official Japanese box art for the game (featured above), which is a stark comparison to the plain box art seen with the game’s localization announcement. Hopefully Atlus USA decides to use the same box art?
A new class was revealed – the Wanderer. Although details are somewhat thin, the class itself is very reminiscent to the protagonist from the Shiren the Wanderer series. It’s worth noting Atlus published the original Shiren the Wanderer in North America.
Two brand new NPCs that players will run into were also shown off. However, the Famitsu report appears to not have a name for either NPC. The first NPC is a character that is part of Magan’s House, a location to enlist in quests and to report back with your findings. The second NPC is the leader of the Adventurer’s Guild, where you visit to create a new character and edit your party.
Lastly, DOE enemies were confirmed for the game as an uncommon form of enemy. The name is a play off the FOE enemies found in the mainline Etrian Odyssey games. Further details were not confirmed.
Etrian Mystery Dungeon is coming to Japan on March 5th, while us North Americans are getting the game sometime next spring.
