Sega and Creative Assembly have revealed the next batch of gameplay for Total War: Warhammer.
Featured above, the new gameplay comes in the form of a more casual “Let’s Play” session, in which developers community coordinator Joey Dalton, Al Bickham (playing off screen), and Simon Mann sit down to play a nearly 15-minute session of the fantasy-strategy game.
The above gameplay is of the pre-alpha build of the game, showcasing a battle in the Underway, ancient Dwarf-constructed tunnels that also provide racial bonuses to the playable Dwarf race. Leading the entire army is Dwarf High King Thogrim Grudgebearer, who leads his legions against the ambush by the Greenskin horde of orcs.
The Dwarfs are one of the four main playable races in Total War: Warhammer, and they’re described as a more defensive race in comparison to the others. “They are sturdy warriors and ingenious engineers, the detail and scale of the cavernous underground cities, or Dwarfholds, they inhabit reflects this,” Sega wrote in a press release.
“Dwarfs foster a defensive playstyle, and this can be seen here as they use stout melee troops and powerful artillery to fend off the Greenskin ambush from all angles.”
Total War: Warhammer is currently in development for Windows PC, although a release date is not confirmed.
