This week’s Famitsu (via Hachima Kikou) has revealed the first details for Atlus’ newly announced Shin Megami Tensei IV: Final for 3DS.

Shin Megami Tensei IV: Final  takes place in the year 203X. To prevent the destruction brought on by the war of the gods that erupted 25 years ago, the sky was blanketed with massive rock to hide from the outside.

Despite the war ending and Tokyo surviving, resources are rare and people are killing one another to survive. At the top of the pecking order are both angels and demons, both of which dominate mankind.

The game’s main cast is as follows:

• The Protagonist (voice by Hiro Shimono) – The protagonist works as an apprentice for an organization known as the Outlaw Hunters. While on a mission, he is attacked by a demon, and tragically dies.
• Mysterious Demon (voice by Shuichi Ikeda) – Following his death, the demon forms a contract with the protagonist after finding him wandering the underworld. This grants the protagonist a new life, and the ability to call demons.
• Asahi (voice by Tomoko Seike) – The 15 year-old childhood friend of the protagonist. She is also part of the Outlaw Hunters.
• Navarre (voice by Shintaro Ohata) – This is the same Navarre from Shin Megami Tensei IV. Following his death, he was unable to rest in peace. When he meets the protagonist, he quickly possesses him, and resembles a green, chibi-sized ghost.

Finally, development on Shin Megami Tensei IV: Final is roughly 90 percent complete.

Shin Megami Tensei IV: Final is launching for the Nintendo 3DS in Japan on February 10th.
