Netflix has announced the star of their upcoming TV series based on Andrzej Sapkowski’s Witcher fantasy novels and CD Projekt RED’s video game adaptations.

The studio has confirmed Henry Cavill as the protagonist of the series, none other than Geralt of Rivia. The series is described as “epic tale of fate and family” where Geralt hunts down beasts and other nasty foes.

Cavill has a long resume both on the silver screen and on the big screen, with roles ranging from the latest D.C. Comics adaptation for Superman, to Showtimes excellent King Henry VIII drama The Tudors.

Netflix billed the series for eight episodes back when they announced it in May of last year, however production scheduling hasn’t been confirmed yet.
