The HBO GO app, which has already been launched on Xbox 360 and announced for Xbox One, has now been confirmed for Playstation consoles.  It was announced that it would be coming to Playstation 3 sometime this year and will be released for Playstation 4 somewhere down the line.  Unfortunately no word yet on if you will be able to use this on your Vita as well.

With the HBO GO app you obviously need to have a subscription to HBO through your cable or satellite provider but the main advantage to the PS3 version will be that you don’t need to pay anything additional if you already have that HBO subscription while you need Xbox Live to access any online content (such as Netflix and HBO GO) on top of the individual fees you are already paying for those services with the Xbox.

Does anybody have this app on the Xbox 360?  Is this something that playstation fans should really be excited about?  Sound off below.
