Hatsune Miku: Project Diva X Has Some RPG Mechanics

MIKU PDX 10-23-2015 - 6

With Project Diva X still on the way, Sega has given us some more details regarding the new Quest Mode it will feature. And check this out – the game will actually be using a few RPG systems like attributes and even loot drops!

In the Live Quest Mode, there’ll be a number of areas that have five different elements; “Neutral Area”, “Cute Area”, “Beauty Area”, and “Chaos Area”. And of course there’ll be a number of tracks for each.

The different modules (costumes) and accessories will all have elements as well, and you’ll want to wear the right equipment for a given area to get a higher Voltage Rate.

However, you won’t be stuck just using a certain module for a given area type. Each module will also have some skills attached that can help out during the rhythm game, like Recover skills to help mitigate misses or Rate Up which will help you gain Voltage more quickly. Oh, and some will help with the Module drop rate. Sounds like there may be a grind for modules!

A few of the modules and songs have been announced, as well as their element, so you can get a feel for what fits where:

“Ai no Uta” by Lamaze-P | Attribute: Neutral | Module: Hatsune Miku V3, designed by iXima

“Tsugihagi Staccato” by Toa | Attribute: Cute | Module: Pizzicato, designed by Anamura

“Lost One no Goukoku” by Neru | Attribute: Cool | Module: Astray, designed by 456

“Nounai Kakumei Girl” by Maretu | Attribute: Beauty | Module: Ambivalence, designed by Hoshima

Hatsune Miku: Project Diva X is set for release in Japan sometime in March of next year for the Vita, and a PS4 version is scheduled for later in 2016.
