Sega have announced Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Mega Mix will be heading to the west on Nintendo Switch.
The Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA series began in 2009, a rythm game featuring Hatsune Miku and other vocaloids. The game originally launched as part of the series’ 10th anniversary in Japan in February, as Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Mega39’s-“39’s” sound simillar to Miku’s or Mix in Japanese.
As detailed in the press release, this latest game features new songs, modules (costumes), gameplay modes, a redesigned graphical style and more.
The official website explains that players can play arcade mode, the Nintendo Switch-exclusive mix mode (using motion controls), take screenshots, create a playlist of music videos, practice, customize how Miku looks, view their best scores, review the tutorial, and configure their buttons. The game will also feature 100 songs (stated as 101 in the trailer), and a t-shirt editor to make your own clothes.
The game is available in a basic and Mega Pack version, the latter having 6 DLC song packs, for a total of 36 additional songs. These DLC packs will be available separately, or as their own bundle after launch,
Those who pre-order the game will also receive bonuses of the Theme Song DLC Pack, containing four theme songs from past Project DIVA titles. These include The secret garden by Kosaki Satoru, Look This Way, Baby by ryo, Sekiranun Graffiti by ryo, and Yumeyume by DECO*27. The Theme Song DLC Pack will become free to all players on June 12th.
