Harvest Moon: One World Heads to PlayStation 4, Launches 2020

Harvest Moon One World

Developer Natsume have announced Harvest Moon: One World will be coming to PlayStation 4, alongside the previously announced Nintendo Switch.

Aside from a new box-art, no other news about the title was revealed. The announcement also specifically stated “We’re excited to confirm #HarvestMoon: One World will be launching on both PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in North America!”

This casts doubt on other regions getting the PlayStation 4 version. No such restriction was mentioned by PlayStation in their announcement tweet, though it did confirm the game’s release date window was the same as the one previously announced for Nintendo Switch.

You can find the PlayStation 4 box art below.

In case you missed our prior coverage, the game will continue the series farming simulation with “new and familiar faces, unique villages, and adventurous challenges while managing their growing farm.” The game is also being developed with a new engine and graphics.

The press release also hints at the game’s story. In a world “without tomatoes, strawberries, or even cabbage,” the players find an old book with these mysteries. The player will also go beyond their home town to the whole world. “From the gorgeous beaches of Halo Halo to the snowy mountains of Salmiakki, there’s literally an entire world to explore.”

The Harvest Moon series is actually the western name of the Japanese Story of Seasons series. The series had used its Japanese name with Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Towna remake of Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town.

Harvest Moon: One World launches 2020 on Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4.
