Happy 20th Birthday Resident Evil – Interview Video with Hiroyuki Kobayashi

Today is the 20th anniversary for the original Resident Evil, which launches back on March 22nd, 1996.

To celebrate, Capcom has released the first in a series of developer interviews focusing on the 20th anniversary of the Resident Evil series.

Featured above, the interview includes Capcom producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi, who talks up the “birth” of survival horror video games, their successes with the franchise, and more.

Future videos will include other team members who have sat in critical positions on various entries in the Resident Evil series.

    The originals were amazing, but the modern actiony ones… eeeeeh.

    Hopefully, now that they’ve gone through their ‘let’s be cinematic western triple A publishers’ phase, we’ll see a return to form from Capcom.

    If RE7 is just Revelations 3 with a budget, I’ll be a happy guy.

    I love the original series and even the gamecube games, but obviously past RE4 is when the series went downhill. Hopefully we get good RE games from here on out. Hopefully.
