Indie developer Studio Koba announced console ports for Haneda Girl, their sidescrolling action platforming game.

Haneda Girl is coming to Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PS5 early next month, on May 7th. The sidescrolling action game has been available for PC (via Steam).

Bullets or Katanas? The Choreography of Destruction

In Haneda Girl, players take on the role of Chichi Wakaba, a student recruited by Professor Nakamura to delve into the Data Empire and combat the Hackernaut threat. To achieve this, the title offers an addictive gameplay system based on the dynamic swapping between two radically different styles:

• Haneda Girl: Lethal, swift, and relentless. Armed with her light katana (“KenChan”), she possesses stealth, invisibility, and super-dash mechanics. She is a “glass cannon”: her speed and offensive capabilities are extreme, but she will die from a single hit.
• M.O.T.H.E.R.: The tactical combat mecha. The perfect contrast to provide brute force, durability, and clear stages with a hail of bullets.
  The combat rooms are true action puzzles that can be solved in multiple ways: “You can go faster alone, but you will go further together.” This duality forces the player to master both characters in an experience that rewards strategy, reflexes, and creativity.

A Cyber-Kawaii Feast of Blood and Techno

Beyond its finely tuned difficulty curve, Haneda Girl captivates with its visual presentation. Studio Koba’s work simulates a retro arcade machine with CRT monitors taken to the extreme: exaggerated explosions, oil stains, and pixelated blood decorating every stage, along with a hilarious sense of humor. All of this is wrapped in a powerful techno soundtrack that guarantees a dopamine rush in every level.
