CD Projekt Red have announced Gwent: Thronebreaker.
To clarify – originally, Gwent was due to get a single-player mode update. Instead, this update has turned into a full-blown stand alone RPG, what they’re now calling Gwent: Thronebreaker.
The game will be a thirty hour campaign “full of choices and consequences, albeit one where actions are still decided by the outcome of Gwent games.” It is also stated users will not need the original Gwent to play it.
The game’s story focuses around “a truly regal tale of Meve, a war-veteran queen of two Northern Realms. Facing an imminent invasion, she is forced to once again enter the warpath, and sets out on a dark journey of destruction and revenge.”
Gwent: Thronebreaker is set for a release sometime later this year for Windows PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
